“Then, as in the days of my childhood, I cried out: ‘My God “I choose all!” I don’t want to be a saint by halves, I’m not afraid to suffer for You, I fear only one thing: to keep my own will; so take it, for “I choose all” that You will!’” – St. Thérèse of Lisieux

“Seeking My Love: A Lenten Journey with St. John of the Cross” by The World Is Noisy - God Whispers® Podcast

“In the first place it should be known that if a person is seeking God, his beloved is seeking him much more.” – St. John of the Cross

Why are the writings of a 16th century Carmelite friar important to us in the Church today? Julia Monnin and Fr. Jedidiah Tritle discuss the major works of St. John of the Cross in this 6-part series recorded in Lent of 2021. Tune in to find out why these mystical writings aren’t just for the “spiritually elite” or ultra-austere but are for all souls striving to grow in holiness.

The Freedom is in The Forgiveness

“When we choose not to forgive (and, as hard as it is may be to do at times, it really is a choice), we set ourselves up to fail. We chain ourselves to the past. We drink our own poison. Christ, though, wants to set us free. In fact, He died so that we could have this freedom. And I think that’s why He asks us to forgive in the first place. Yes, as I see it, the freedom He offers to each of us is in the forgiveness.” – from Reflection #99 “Forgiveness” in the book “The World Is Noisy – God Whispers: Volume I”

In Part 1 Julia Monnin reminds listeners of the (sometimes harsh) reality that (according to the words of Jesus Himself as recorded in Sacred Scripture) forgiveness is not an option. In Part 2 Julia sits down with Catholic therapist, Alex Wallace to expand on this spiritual reality while also looking at forgiveness from the psychological and emotional point of view.
